Amazon Sr. Visual UX Designer, Devices Design Group in Seattle, Washington

Description

Our design studio is looking for an exceptional Sr. Visual UX Designer to shape the vision of Alexa AI and conversational experiences, and lead their work through delivery across Amazon devices, including Echo Show, FireTV, Fire Tablets and the Alexa App. This role will be a leader both within our studio, and an influencer across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

This role will drive product vision and craft visually compelling UI designs within our cross-functional team through the full development lifecycle from concept to customers’ hands.

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have a keen eye for elegant, modern design, and UI patterns and a passion for exploring “what’s next” in product design as a tastemaker and storyteller.

  • You have a deep understanding of visual systems and best practices, including layout, typography, production, art direction and motion design.

  • You bring a desire to coach others, facilitate collaborative sessions like brainstorms and workshops.

  • You innovate and set standards for design excellence, thinking holistically about the “why" of all that we ship.

  • You advocate for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and customer goals.

  • You can confidently present to internal teams and senior leadership.

  • You have a strong ability to translate a vision into concise deliverables and hands-on building with engineering teams, ultimately elevating the visual experience of millions of Alexa customers around the world.

About the team

The Devices Design Group (DDG) leads user experience (UX) design innovation for Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and more. We work on the Alexa app, designing on-the-go productivity and entertainment experiences. Our team is meeting the future head-on through our Devices Human Interface Guidelines and product strategies. Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

  • Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

  • Experience with hands-on visual design

  • Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes

  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows

  • Experience designing in an agile development environment

  • Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
